Rating just a terse 3 paragraphs in The Hindu, the Indian government is all but declaring victory over the bird flu outbreak in West Bengal.
Of course we've heard this sort of claim from the Indian government before, and the reporters on the ground continue to paint a far less optimistic picture of events there.
Time, as they say, will tell.

New Delhi (PTI): With poultry mortality due to the birdflu decreasing, the Centre on Thursday said the situation was well under control and within the next few days there would be no more deaths due to the disease.
"Birdflu is well under control and we are happy with the way the West Bengal government has handled the situation," Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss told reporters after inaugurating an IVF centre at the AIIMS.
"We are confident that within the next few days there would be no deaths due to the disease. We are very confident that it is coming down," he said.
