In what must be some kind of record, a third undersea Internet cable has been damaged in the Middle East. Already, with just two damaged cables, severe bandwidth problems have been reported in Egypt and India.
As one might imagine, this has interfered a bit with our flu forum's dedicated newshounds, who spend hours each day scanning foreign language news reports on the Internet.
Getting news, particularly out of Egypt, the past few days has been difficult. How much effect this new cable cut will have isn't known, but it certainly won't help the situation.
Exactly how three undersea cables could be cut in a week remains a mystery. This report from AFP.

A third undersea Internet cable has been damaged in the Middle East, adding to the disruption in online services after two other lines were cut earlier this week, the cable operating firm said.
The Falcon cable was cut 56 kilometres (35 miles) from Dubai, between Oman and the United Arab Emirates, according to its owner, FLAG Telecom, which is part of India's Reliance Communications.
The repair ship had been notified and was expected to arrive at the site in the next few days, the company said on its website.
