Strong Aftershocks Strike Off Sumatra

According to the USGS, several strong aftershocks - including one measuring a remarkable 8.2 magnitude - have struck off the coast of Sumatra over the past couple of hours in the wake of today’s 8.6 magnitude quake.

This quake is large enough that extensions and revisions to the existing tsunami watches may be required, particularly close to the epicenter.
