H7N9: Shanghai, Zhejiang Province Together Add 5 New Cases

In the latest round of updates Shanghai has reported one new H7N9 infection, and Zhejiang Province four, bringing China’s new total to 82 (plus 1 asymptomatic PCR positive case in Beijing), and 16 deaths.

 

First the report from Shanghai:

 

 

City new cases of human infection of H7N9 avian influenza confirmed cases

As of 17:00, the city's new case of human infection of H7N9 avian influenza confirmed cases. Up to now, a total of 31 cases of human infection with the H7N9 avian influenza confirmed cases, of which 11 died, 16 cases being treated in isolation, four patients have been discharged.

 

New cases as follows:

Patients Zhang, male, 41 years old, cadres, who lives in Huzhou, onset on April 14, now a hospital for treatment.

 

Detected by the provincial Center for Disease Control, more than 4 patients specimens are infected with the H7N9 avian influenza virus nucleic acid positive.
