The World Health Organization has posted their latest MERS-CoV update, that catches up with case we learned about on Tuesday (see KSA Announces 66th MERS-COV Case). This update also takes note of the Qatari patient in the UK who passed away this week after many months in intensive care.

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) - update
11 July 2013 - The Ministry of Health (MoH) in Saudi Arabia has announced an additional laboratory-confirmed case of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection in the country.
The patient is a 66 year-old man from Asir region with an underlying health condition. He is currently in critical but stable condition.
In addition, a Qatari patient earlier confirmed with MERS-CoV infection, who was being treated in the United Kingdom died on 28 June 2013.
Globally, from September 2012 to date, WHO has been informed of a total of 81 laboratory-confirmed cases of infection with MERS-CoV, including 45 deaths.
