Not reporting (thus far, anyway) this morning is Zhejiang province, which has been the hotspot for H7N9 cases over the past month.

Keeping excellent track of all of these cases is Sharon Sanders and the newshounds on FluTrackers.  Their (absolutely indispensible) H7N9 Case Line Listing already has these latest four cases added.

The good news is, that despite a steady parade of H7N9 reports now for the past month, we’ve not seen any dramatic increase in the number of cases being reported each day.  Something we would expect to see if this virus were transmitting efficiently, or in a sustained manner, in the population.

But even so, as I discussed yesterday in DNI: An Influenza Pandemic As A National Security Threat, no one is taking this second wave of H7N9 lightly.
