Saudi MOH Announces 3 New MERS Cases

KSA’s MOH has released their daily tally of new MERS cases with the lowest number we’ve seen in nearly a week.  Just three cases are reported over the past 24 hours, 1 from Riyadh and 2 from Jeddah.  Additionally 3 deaths among previously announced cases are reported.

 

 

Daily Report on the Coronavirus (MERS-CoV)

As of 12 pm Local Time in Makkah on Sunday, May 11th, 2014 corresponding to Rajab 12th, 1435H

 The total number of the confirmed cases over the past 24 hours: 3 cases

Recovered and discharged cases that previously tested positive and are now negative: 5 cases

The total number of deaths: 3 cases (all previously recorded cases, 1 of the cases occurred on May 7, 2014).

Overview of the Health Status of the Cases:

 

  • 3 stable cases
  • 1 case that has not displayed any symptoms

Health situation of the cases in detail:

A. Riyadh:

  1. A 56-year-old woman. She displayed mild respiratory symptoms after being in contact with a confirmed case. Her condition is stable.

B. Jeddah:

  1. An 80-year-old woman. On May 6, 2014, she displayed respiratory symptoms and visited the ER at a government hospital. Now, she is in home isolation. Her condition is stable.

  2. A 42-year-old woman. She displayed respiratory symptoms on May 4, 2014. She was admitted to a government hospital on May 5, 2014. She has been in contact with a confirmed case. Her condition is stable.

Deaths from previously reported cases:

  1. A 45-year-old man passed away on May 7, 2014.  He was previously recorded as a confirmed case in Jeddah. May Allah have mercy upon him.
  2. An 80-year-old woman passed away on May 10, 2014.  She was previously recorded as a confirmed case in Riyadh. May Allah have mercy upon her.
  3. A 62-year-old woman passed away on May 10, 2014.  She was previously recorded as a confirmed case in Riyadh. May Allah have mercy upon her.

Recovered and discharged cases that previously tested positive and are now negative:

  1. A 34-year-old woman was discharged from a public hospital in Jeddah. Her latest tests were negative for MERS Corona virus.
  2. A 26-year-old woman was in home isolation in Jeddah. Her latest tests were negative for MERS Corona virus.
  3. A 40-year-old man was discharged from a public hospital in Jeddah. His latest tests were negative for MERS Corona virus.
  4. A 37-year-old man was in home isolation in Tabuk. His latest tests were negative for MERS Corona virus.
  5. A 24-year-old woman was in home isolation in Tabuk. Her latest tests were negative for MERS Corona virus.
