As mentioned last Friday, today the World Health Organization has convened the fifth meeting of the IHR Emergency Committee to discuss – among other things – whether the MERS Coronavirus outbreak on the Arabian Peninsula constitutes a PHEIC (Public Health Emergency of International Concern).
The WHO will conduct a virtual press conference to let us know what the committee discussed, and what they decided, later today.
I expect to be able to update this story early to mid-afternoon EDT.
