Saudi MOH Reports 1 MERS Case In Hufoof

#11,819

The number of reported MERS-CoV cases has dropped off markedly in Saudi Arabia over the past several months - in large part due to the lack of any hospital (nosocomial) outbreaks - but we still see sporadic community acquired cases being reported across the Kingdom.
The latest, announced today, comes from Hufoof (aka `Hofuf'), and is listed as a 73 year old male with direct contact with camels.
Hufoof was the scene of a prolonged nosocomial outbreak last year (April-July), involving more than 40 patients, and two camel-related cases last August.
