China MOA: Fujian & Guangdong Provinces Report Fresh Outbreaks Of ASF

China's African Swine Fever epidemic continues with new reports in both Fujian and Guangdong Provinces, along with media reports on the detection of ASF virus nucleic acid in two batches of pig's blood globulin powder which is used as a feed supplement.

On December 21, Tianjin Customs detected the positive detection of African swine fever virus nucleic acid from two batches of porcine blood globulin powder (batch numbers: 20181204 and 20181207) produced by the export-registered enterprise (Tianjin Enbi Protein Co., Ltd.). The Center for Prevention and Control is diagnosed as positive for African swine fever virus nucleic acid. The raw materials of the above products came from 12 slaughtering and processing plants in Tianjin, with a total of 73.93 tons.

In mid-September - about 6 weeks after the first outbreak of ASF - China's MOA Issued New Regulations On Pig Feed To Curb ASF Spread, which included the suspension of using pig blood products in feed. 
It is not entirely clear from this article when these two batches were produced, or whether porcine blood globulin powder continues to be used in China's pig feed. 
What we do know is that ASF has spread with remarkable speed across half of China in just 5 months, and that outbreaks continue despite massive government efforts to control the problem.

12 Yue 24- Ri 8 , the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas to the control center reported Chinese animal epidemic prevention, Animal Disease Control Center of Fujian Province confirmed , Fujian Nanping City Yanping a breeding company occurrence of African swine fever epidemic.
Up to now, the company breeding herds of pigs 5776 head incidence of 35 head and died 11 headers.
After the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural immediately sent a steering group to the local. Started as required by local emergency response mechanism, to take the blockade, culling measures to deal with harmless treatment, disinfection, culling of all pigs died and sound processing. At the same time, prohibiting all pigs and their products to bring up the blockade zone, prohibiting the transport of live pigs blockade zone . At present, these measures have been implemented.

African swine fever epidemic in Boluo County, Guangdong Province

At 13:00 on December 25, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center and was diagnosed by the Guangdong Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center.
A case of African swine fever occurred in a farmer in Boluo County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. Up to now, the farmer has kept 90 pigs, 11 diseases and 11 deaths.

Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent a steering group to the local area. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism as required, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., to treat all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. At the same time, all pigs and their products are prohibited from being transferred out of the blockade, and pigs are prohibited from being transported into the blockade. At present, the above measures have been implemented.
