At 5am this morning the National Hurricane Center reported that CAT 5 Hurricane Dorian had very nearly stalled 120 miles east of West Palm Beach, which is hopefully a sign that the its long anticipated turn towards the NW and N is about to begin.
Although the current forecast keeps Dorian off the Florida coast, this major hurricane will pass dangerously close to shore, and Hurricane impacts are expected in some areas. Any small deviation westward in the expected path could bring the core over landThe summary of watches and warnings this morning (more are likely to be issued up the coast):

While Florida will hopefully be spared the worst from Dorian, it is unlikely to come away completely unscathed. This is a major hurricane, and poses a major threat, particularly to coastal residents.
And if the forecast holds, Dorian will become a problem for Georgia and the Carolinas later in the week.
