While Chinese scientists publish reams of laudable, solid research every year, it often comes months or even years after the fact. Getting reliable, timely information on disease outbreaks emanating from within China has always been a challenge.
This week, however, China's CDC has launched their own weekly epidemiological report - based largely on the CDC's MMWR format - which has the potential to change the way we get information from China.
The inaugural issue (Vol 1, No 1) - published in English - is available as a 19 page PDF File, and it covers a number of topics, including the recent outbreak of plague in Inner Mongolia (see China: Inner Mongolia MOH Announces 5th Case Of Plague).
I did have a few a couple of issues accessing this report, notably a very slow download (55 megs), and I was a bit disappointed that each page of the PDF was a `slide' or graphic rather than text, making it impossible to cut and past excerpts (without doing screen shots)
Those quibbles aside, the first issue of the CCDC Weekly looks both professional and promising, and I look forward to the next issue.

The table of contents of this first issue:

As far as the Plague report, it only covers the first 3 cases from Inner Mongolia, as the 4th case was reported on the 28th of November.  Due to the copy and paste restrictions, I've only included a screenshot of the summary:
