Iran MOH: 2922 COVID-19 Cases, 92 Deaths

Based on the number of exported cases we've seen over the past week, Iran's epidemic is undoubtedly many times greater than has been reported. We continue to hear anecdotal reports of hundreds of deaths, and thousands of cases, but they are impossible to verify.
Iran's death toll is 5 times higher than has been reported by South Korea, which probably reflects their ability to only test and confirm the `sickest of the sick',  along with the strain their health care system must be under. 
Of note, while Qom was originally the epicenter of cases, today's report shows more than twice as many cases (n=253) reported from Tehran province than from Qom (n=101).

This latest (translated) update from the Iranian MOH:

Director of public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Health announced:
Identification of 586 new patients with a 19-in-country/recovery of 552 patients in the country
The head of public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health said: According to the laboratory results yesterday to today, 586 of the new case was identified in the country, and the total of patients with the disease in the country reached 2922.
Dr. Kianoosh Jahanpour said in a conversation with the Webanda reporter stated: Among the new patients, 253 cases of Tehran Province, 35 of Gilan Province, 9 in Mazandaran Province, 8 of Semnan Province, 9 people in Golestan Province, 9 people in East Azerbaijan province, 4 related Kurdistan, 15 persons of Kermanshah, 7 cases of Ilam, 5 related to Lorestan Province, 27 people in Khuzestan Province, 14 related to Fars, 6 related to Zanjan, 8 central patients, 25 in Qazvin, 19 related to Alborz, 101 people of Qom, one The oven related to Chahar Mahall and Bakhtiari, 14 Kerman, 8 cases of Sistan and Baluchestan, 8 cases of Khorasan Razavi and one person were related to North Khorasan.
Unfortunately, during the last 24 hours, 15 of the patients were killed and the total of victims died in 92 people in the country.
