Italy MOH: Update Case Counts & School Closures

#15,026

The Italian MOH has posted a notice on the school closing I mentioned today in an earlier blog:

School and University, didactic activity suspended throughout Italy from 5 to 15 March

Didactic activity in schools and universities will be suspended from March 5 to 15, 2020 throughout Italy. The Minister of Education, Lucia Azzolina, announced it at a press conference in Palazzo Chigi.

"I pledge that essential public service, albeit remotely, will be provided to all students," added the minister.

The decision, as explained by the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte during the press conference, was taken prudently considering the evolution of the epidemiological situation, after a careful evaluation of the Technical Scientific Committee.
