Japan MOH: 47 New Domestic COVID-19 Cases

While Japan has managed to keep a pretty good lid on community COVID-19 spread, in recent days we've seen a noticeable spike in cases, adding 172 cases over the past 4 days.  Today's report adds 47 new cases, bring Japan's totals to 454 cases (408 symptomatic, 46 asymptomatic).

From today (March 7), Niigata, Kanagawa, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, Kyoto, Chiba, Fukushima, Tokyo, Kochi, Gunma, Hyogo, Osaka, Yamanashi, Aichi, We report the following 42 patients with infectious diseases related to the new coronavirus and 5 asymptomatic pathogen carriers reported as follows.
With this announcement, there will be 454 domestic cases of infection (408 patients, 46 asymptomatic pathogen carriers). In addition, one patient has been confirmed in airport quarantine so far, bringing the total to 455.

We will carry out proactive epidemiological investigations on this matter, including the identification of close contacts.
