Iran Adds 1,076 COVID-19 Cases In Past 24 Hours

Yesterday, in IRNA: Iran Barricading Cities - Closing Roads To Slow COVID-19, we saw some of the tactics being used by Iranian authorities in an attempt to interrupt the spread of the novel coronavirus.  Overnight, the 7th Iranian official - Fatemeh Rahbar, 55, a conservative MP - was announced to have died from the virus.
Also yesterday, we learned that in addition to their 4747 confirmed cases, Iran had nearly 16,000 suspected cases in local hospitals. 
The Iranian healthcare system is obviously under considerable strain, as evidenced by this report - published today by State run media IRNA (Islamic Republic News Agency) - called The country's surgeons have stopped their unnecessary actionsA brief excerpt follows:
The Secretary of the Iranian Society of Surgeons said: "There are currently only emergency actions such as cancer surgery or appendix, and other surgeries have been cancelled, and surgeons have medical advice through virtual space of their patients to have a minimum commute to health centers and community. 
Today the confirmed case count goes up by 1,076, bringing the nation's case count to 5,823.  Another 21 deaths have been reported, raising that number to 145.

Increasing the number of patients identified to 5823 people
Dr. Jahanpour, spokesperson for Ministry of Health and Medical Education said yesterday to today and based on the results of the laboratory, 1076 of the new patients with a 19-week study in the country were identified and the total patients in the entire country reached 5823.
Unfortunately, during the last 24 hours, 21 people were killed and the total of the victims died in the country 145.
