Upcoming COCA Call (Tues. May 24th): What Clinicians Need to Know about Monkeypox

Although the number of confirmed Monkeypox cases in the United States remains small (n=2), that number is expected to rise in coming days, following Friday's alert (see CDC HAN #00466: Monkeypox Virus Infection in the United States and Other Non-endemic Countries—2022) to clinicians to be alert to, and report, cases. 

Tomorrow (May 24th, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET) the CDC will hold a COCA Call for clinicians, on how to diagnose, test, treat and report suspected cases of Monkeypox.

This COCA Call will present what clinicians need to know about monkeypox including guidance about the typical clinical presentation, treatment options, pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis, and reporting to public health authorities.
