CDC COCA Call Today: Monkeypox - Updates on the Epidemiology, Testing, Treatment, and Vaccination

#16,901

Despite their much lower populations, a month ago the UK, Spain, Germany, France and Portugal were are all reporting more Monkeypox cases than the United States (see chart below), but as the above chart illustrates - as testing has expanded - so have the numbers in the U.S.

Further proof, as if we needed it, that vast oceans and long distances provide little protection against infectious diseases in this highly-mobile 21st century, and that diseases can initially spread unnoticed in a community.

To help clinicians deal with this rapidly evolving situation, the CDC will hold its 3rd COCA Call on the spread of Monkeypox since the outbreak began last spring.

These presentations are often technical, and are of greatest interest to clinicians and healthcare providers, but also may be of interest to others.

I suspect this will be a heavily attended event. If you are unable to attend the live presentation, these (and past) webinars are always archived and available for later viewing at this LINK.

Monkeypox Outbreak: Updates on the Epidemiology, Testing, Treatment, and Vaccination
