As the threat of COVID-19 grows in the United States, and as more is learned about the virus, the CDC has been releasing new guidance for a wide range of stakeholders. You can find most of the written guidance at Coronavirus.gov.
But the CDC is also producing webinars - primarily for the healthcare profession - with the latest information and guidance on the dealing with COVID-19. Most of these are provided through COCA (Clinician Outreach & Communication Activity) Calls. These presentations are often technical, and are of greatest interest to clinicians and healthcare providers, but are also archived and made available to the general public.
Ten days ago, the CDC presented What Clinicians Need To know To Prepared for COVID-19 (see COCA Call On COVID-19 Now Available Online), followed up last Thursday and Friday with the following presentations on COVID-19.
These COCA calls are understandably `hot tickets' right now and many people were either busy, or unable to log on when they were broadcast, so they too are archived and available for viewing.
On Tuesday (March 17th), the CDC will present another COCA Call, entitled:
COCA Call: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Update and Information for Long-term Care Facilities
Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2020
Time: 2:00 P.M. – 3:00P.M. (Eastern Time)
If you are unable to attend this COCA Call, the recording of this webinar will be posted at this location a few hours after the live event.
Overview
During this COCA Call, presenters will focus on current information about COVID-19 as it relates to long-term care facilities, including nursing homes. Topics will include infection prevention and control guidance, steps facilities should take to prepare, and available resources.
