Iran's MOH website - which has been offline intermittently the past few days - has posted their latest update on COVID-19, which brings their confirmed case total to just under 14,000 and the number of deaths to 724. This produces an apparent CFR of just over 5%.
But there are genuine doubts that these numbers come close to reflecting the situation on the ground, given the unofficial reports of thousands of deaths, satellite photos showing mass graves, and the staggering number of exported cases from Iran.Like Italy, COVID-19 appears to be rife in Iran, and their ability to deliver life-saving medical care appears badly compromised. As with China, we may never know the full extent of Iran's losses from this epidemic.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health announced:
Identification of 1209 new patients with Kunwade-19 in Iran
The spokesperson and the head of Public Relations Center and Information Ministry of Health and Medical education were identified 1209 new patients with kwade 19 in the country.
According to the WEBDA, Dr. Kianoosh Jahanpour said: "Yesterday to today, and according to the results of the laboratory, 1209 of the new patients with a 19-week study in the country were identified and the total patients in the country increased to 13938.
