As always, If you are unable to attend the live presentation, these (and past) webinars are archived and available for later viewing at this LINK. Details on today's presentation follow:
Underlying Medical Conditions and Severe COVID-19: Evidence-based Information for Healthcare Providers
= Free Continuing Education
Overview
While age is the strongest risk factor for severe COVID-19 outcomes, studies have shown that COVID-19 does not affect all population groups equally. The risk of severe COVID-19 (e.g., hospitalization, admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), intubation or mechanical ventilation, death) increases with the number of underlying medical conditions.
During this COCA Call, presenters will update clinicians on the underlying medical conditions associated with severe COVID-19, describe the methods used to rate the evidence linking conditions to severe COVID-19, review the evidence on risk for conditions included, and provide resources for healthcare providers caring for patients with underlying medical conditions.
