Iran MOH: 743 New COVID-19 Cases & 49 Additional Deaths

#15,056

The latest numbers from Iran's MOH puts that nation's total at 6,566 cases and 194 deaths.  Two days ago we also learned that roughly 16,000 other cases are hospitalized, suspected of COVID-19.
Although today's update is a significant drop over yesterday's record 1076 cases, this may be more of an indication of a testing bottleneck or `creative accounting', than an actual slowdown in cases.
What little news we get out of Iran is carefully `curated' by a state run media, and - as we've seen in China and other places - doesn't necessarily reflect the situation on the ground. There are persistent (albeit, unverifiable) social media reports of far more deaths than have been reported, and of ill-equipped hospitals swamped with thousands of patients.

It's been said that truth is the first casualty in any war.  But that goes for pandemics as well.

The Head of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health announced:

743 confirmed new cases of Cowid 19 in Iran

The ministry's spokesman said: Fortunately, in the country, 2,134 cases with COID19 have improved so far.

He explained that fortunately in the country, 2134 patients with Coveide19 have improved so far, and the total number of Cuid19 patients in the country has been divided into the province.
